SIO BANGALORE CONDEMNS HYDERABAD BLASTS

The Students Islamic Organization (SIO)- Bangalore strongly condemns the recent blasts in Hyderabad and all other acts of violence designed to terrorize and spread fear among public. It demands that an independent, impartial investigation be initiated immediately and those responsible be brought to justice through due process of law. It condemns the harassment and injustice which is often inflicted upon particular communities after such incidents, especially by State authorities. At this time it also appeals for peace and calm among the society, and urges all not to fall prey to those who would use such incidents for political or personal mileage. SIO also strongly condemns the irresponsible behaviour of various media outlets which seek to sensationalize and pass judgement during coverage, and urges media to exercise restraint and responsibility.

Yeshwanthpur and Pulakeshinagar Units lead the way in RTE Campaign

Yeshwanthpur and Pulakeshinagar Units of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO)- Bangalore City reached out to hundreds of poor families in their respective areas and educated the masses regarding the Right To Education (RTE) Act. Yeshwanthpur Unit covered more than 150 houses in Yeshwanthpur, JP Park, Mathikere and Jalahallai areas out of which 130 families were assisted in filling the forms respectively. Apart from this 70 families were assisted in making their income certificates. On the other hand Pulakeshinagar Unit covered more than 100 houses in Saraipalya, Ashwathnagar and Thanisandra. An approximate of 70 families were assisted in filling the application forms. The other units namely Shivajinagar, RT Nagar and Bangalore South covered more than 50 houses and filled around 30 application forms in Shivajinagar, Bharathi nagar, Vasanth nagar, Tilaknagar and Ilyas nagar.

Associates' Training Camp at Bangalore South

A one day Associates' Training Camp was organised at Bangalore South Unit of SIO-Bangalore. The camp was held at Islamic Centre, Jaynagar on the 3rd of February 2013. The program included talks and interactive sessions on Importance of Dawah, Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) as a social worker, Group Discussions and Documentary Screening on various issues. The delegates later participated in a session on Understanding SIO and the Purpose of Life.    Around 25 students and youth from Bangalore South Unit were present in the program.  

SIO Condemns State Govt's move on Private Universities

Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO)- Karnataka Zone condemns the move by the Karnataka State Government for permitting the establishment of 3 private Universities in the State. In a Memorandum to the Honorable Governor of Karnataka, Mr. Asim Khan the Secretary of Public Relations- Karnataka Zone stated, "The decision by government to create three more private universities in Karnataka is unacceptable. By promoting private universities, the government is trying to shrug off from its fundamental duty of providing quality education to the economically weaker section of the society. We are very well aware of the situation of government universities that lack quality education, are marred with corruption and infighting between the top management. Tazkiya Program of Shivajinagar and Pulakeshinagar Units

Shivajinagar and Pulakeshinagar Units of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO)- Bangalore organised their monthly Tazkiya program at Rashadnagar (Govindpura) on the 26th of January 2013. Around 20 people form both the units attended the program. Talks and Discussions on the title 'Prophet Muhammed - Messenger of Love and Peace' and 'World View' were held.  

SIO Bangalore Malyali Unit organises trip for students

The Malyali Unit of SIO- Bangalore organised a trip for students to the Nandi Hills recently. Around 15 students participated.
