Eid Get-Together in Bengaluru

Eid is an occasion to rejuvenate our relationship with the Creator and to thank Him for the bounties given to us. It also gives us an opportunity to meet and share our joy with our Non-Muslim brethren. In this background, SIO Bengaluru City in collaboration with SIO Karnataka Zone organised an Eid Get-Together program on 24th June 2018 at the Institute of Agricultural Technologists, Bengaluru.  The chief guests for the program were: Justice Santhosh Hegde (Former Lokayutka, Karnataka) Dr. Javed Jamil (Dy. Bengaluru Eid Get-Together

Dawah Stall near Ramaiah College by Yeshwantpur Unit

"Ramzan is the blessed month in which the Quran was revealed."   With this message in mind and with a zeal to spread the message of Islam, SIO Yeshwantpur Unit setup a Dawah Stall near Ramaiah College on 10th June 2018. The visitors to the stall were gifted with a snack kit and in brief explained about the message of Ramzan.  Sharing the experience of the Dawah Stall, Br. Ahtesham (Unit President, SIO Yeshwantpur) wrote, "Alhamdulilla, out of all the street dawah's done by our unit, this can be called quite successful one not because we were able to reach an audience of approx 80-100 ppl but we had a variety of people including transgenders, security guards, daily wage workers, students, family and many more. One man also asked how to become a muslim and exchanged his number to have a session separately. Taqraat Program by RT Nagar and B'lore East Unit

The 3rd Taqraat of Ramzan (9-10 June 2018) was jointly observed by the cadre of RT Nagar and Bangalore East Units at Masjid-e-Saad Bin Waqqas. The program started with a talk on "Fikr-e-Akhirat" by Br. Rafeeq Ahmed (Zonal President, SIO Karnataka). Addressing the gathering, Br. Rafeeq stressed on the need to ponder over our hereafter and how the Sahabah (RA) spent their lives keeping in mind the hereafter in front of them.  Later, Janab Atharulla Sharief Saab (President, JIH Karnataka) spoke on "Transformation of Society", motivating the cadre to revisit the history of Islam and derive lessons from it to bring a change in society.   A Quran Study Circle was later conducted by Br. Abdul Hameed (ZAC Member, SIO Karnataka) on "The Wisdom of Luqman" in which verses 13-18 of Surah Luqman were discussed. After the study circle, the cadre offered Tahajjud Salah under the imamat of Hafiz Br. Zuhair Khan (Associate, SIO B'lore East).  Member

Shampur Unit conducts session on Ramadan in Siddique Urdu Higher Primary School

SIO Shampur Unit organised a special session for the students of Siddique Urdu Higher Primary School on 6th June 2018. Hafiz Br. Owais (BE Student, MSRIT) interacted with the students on "The Importance of Ramadan in our lives" and motivated them to make effective use of the blessed month. Around 70 students from 5th Std. to 7th Std. got benefited from the session.  SIO Shampur Unit will be conducting regular classes for the students of this school after Ramadan. Anyone who wishes to volunteer and get involved can contact Br. Musaib (9738337487). 

SIO Bengaluru Ramadhan Iftar Get-Together 2018

  Ramadhan provides the best opportunity for Muslims to reach out to their Non-Muslim brethren and present the message of Islam. In this context, SIO Bengaluru City organised an Iftar Get-Together for students and youth of all faiths at Salam Centre, Jaynagar, on 3rd June 2018.   Shri Shivarudra Swamiji of Beli Matha; Rev. Dr. Mohan Chandra Prasad - Pastor, CSI Church; and Br. Abdul Hameed - Member, SIO K'taka ZAC addressed the gathering on the occasion. More than 120 students and youth participated in the Iftar Get-Together, including appx. 50 Non-Muslims. 

Yaum-e-Badr Program at RT Nagar Unit

To remember the sacrifices of the early Muslims in the Battle of Badr which took place in 2AH, SIO RT Nagar Unit organised a special program at Masjid-e-Saab Bin Waqqas on 2nd June 2018. Janab Atharulla Sharief Saab (President, JIH Karnataka) presented the context in which the battle took place. He also explained and elaborated the need to be connected with our history, to derive lessons and inspiration from the Battle of Badr in/for present context. Around 60 students and youth of the unit attended the program.
