MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR MERITORIOUS GIRL STUDENTS

Maulana Azad Education Foundation was established on the occasion of Maulana Abul Kalam  Azad’s birth centenary. The Foundation was registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860,  on 6th July, 1989. The Foundation is a voluntary non-political, non-profit marking social service  organization established to promote education amongst the educationally backward sections of the  society. It is funded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. The Hon’ble Minister of  Minority Affairs is its Ex-officio President. The aim of the Foundation is to formulate and implement  educational schemes and plans for the benefit of the educationally backward minorities in particular  and weaker sections in general. Tarbiyati Program at Pulikeshinagar Unit

SIO - Pulikeshinagar Unit conducted a Tarbiyati Program for its members and associates on 21 st July. The program featured an explanation on “Individual Activities for Members and Associates” according to the Policy and Program 2013-14, the explanation was done by Br. Sadaqat (ZAC Member).  The program was followed by an interactive session by Janab Ameenul Hasan on the topic, “Role of Muslim Students in co-education system of Education”.  The discussion was followed by Iftar and Supper. More than 20 people participated in the program. 

Campus Lectures by SIO - Pulikeshinagar Unit

Pulikeshinagar Unit of SIO Bangalore organised campus lectures in nine schools namely Danial Public School, Shams School, Karnataka School, New Noble High School, Wisdom High School, Orchard High School, Mount Hira High School, HP Newton High School and New Horizon High School on the topic, “Is it Necessary to Read the Quran with Understanding?”  More than 1000 students were benefited from these lectures. A booklet titled “Is it Necessary to Read the Quran with Understanding?” was also distributed to the students. 

Salman Farsi elected as the President of Social Zest Association for the year 2013 -14

Br. Salman Farsi (Member- Pulikeshinagar Unit) is doing final year BA at St. Joseph's College, Bangalore and has been elected as the President of Social Zest Association for the academic year 2013-14. The association is part of the Department of Sociology. Their activities include seminars, guest lectures, documentary screening, intra and inter collegiate fest, etc. All the programs will have a social orientation. SIO Bangalore congratulates Br.
