"Engineers for Society" an initiative by SIO Bangalore conducted Day long orientation program for the young Engineering Students and Graduates today with the theme " What After Engineering". Program featured Interactive sessions and talks on social responsibility of Engineers, Entrepreneurship development, Philosophy of Technology and present trends in technology.

Summer Islamic Camp at Pulikeshinagar Unit

Pulakeshinagar Unit of SIO-Bangalore is organising Summer Islamic Classes at two schools namely Shams School and Soniya English High School. The Classes will be conducted from the 11th of April 2013 to 21st April 2013. The Classes aim to provide Islamic Knowledge to the students and to develop their talent through Activities,Team Games, Stories, Competitions and much more.

Summer Shade '13- Teens Gathering

The Malyali Unit of SIO-Bangalore is organising a three day Summer Camp for teenage boys starting from 5th April 2013 to 7th April 2013. The Camp is titled Summer Shade '13 and will be held at Al-Ameen Residential School, Hoskote. 

Campus Lectures organised by Pulakeshinagar Unit

The Pulakeshinagar Unit of SIO-Bangalore organised Campus Lectures in 5 Schools namely New Orchard Public School, St. Josephs High School, Danial Nursery, Primary and High School, Karnataka Genius School and Shams School. The lectures were conducted on two topics, ‘Who should be our Role Model?’ and ‘How to face Exams?’. More than 300 students were addressed during the program. Br. Hamza, Br. Adil, Br. Haris, Br. Kashif and Br. Kazim addressed the students in different Schools.

Tarbiyati Program at Pulakeshi nagar and Shivajinagar

Pulakeshi Nagar and Shivajinagar Units of SIO-Bangalore organised a joint Tarbiyati Program on 23rd and 24th February 2013 at BIFT. The program began with a Table Tennis tournament followed by talks on ‘Importance of Ijtimaeyat’ and ‘Social Relevance from the Life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)’ which was followed by a Quiz competition. The next day the program began with a discussion on ‘Intoxication among the Youth’ and concluded with a cricket match. Around 30 students (members and associates) from both the units attended the program.

SIO Bangalore Protests against attack on Journalist Shahina

Members of SIO- Bangalore participated in a protest organised at Town Hall on the 25th of February 2013 to condemn the attack by the Right Wing forces on Journalist Shahina. Touseef Ahmed Madikeri (Zonal President, SIO-Karnataka) addressed the gathering and stressed on the need to provide security to the Journalist. SIO demanded that the culprits be arrested and punished. 

SIO BANGALORE CONDEMNS HYDERABAD BLASTS

The Students Islamic Organization (SIO)- Bangalore strongly condemns the recent blasts in Hyderabad and all other acts of violence designed to terrorize and spread fear among public. It demands that an independent, impartial investigation be initiated immediately and those responsible be brought to justice through due process of law. It condemns the harassment and injustice which is often inflicted upon particular communities after such incidents, especially by State authorities. At this time it also appeals for peace and calm among the society, and urges all not to fall prey to those who would use such incidents for political or personal mileage. SIO also strongly condemns the irresponsible behaviour of various media outlets which seek to sensationalize and pass judgement during coverage, and urges media to exercise restraint and responsibility.
