Documentary screening on 24th September

SIO-Bangalore Documentary Club will be screening the documentary "In search of Gandhi" on the 24th of September 2011 (Saturday) from 7pm at Students' Centre, Darussalam Building .  About the Film : A road movie about Indian democracy that follows the trail of Mahatma Gandhi’s famous salt march of 1930. The film was commissioned by Steps International as part of the `Why Democracy’ global broadcast TV series, and has been broadcast on several international channels, including BBC World, Arte (Germany and France), SBS (Australia), NHK (Japan). Mohammed Zeeshan wins 1st prize

An associate of SIO - Yeshwantpur Area, Mohammed Zeeshan Refath won the First place in Model Making Competition held at Mahaveer Jain College which was held at 18th August 2011. A student of Sri Jagathguru Renukacharya Pre University College studying in 2nd PU, Zeeshan took part in the Inter Collegiate Physics Fest and won the competition. His model was of Mars Rover which he had named as 'Spirit'. SIO Bangalore congratulates Zeeshan for his success and hopes that he maintains his performance and excels in his academics.

Programs of SIO start at Yaseen Nagar

SIO- Bangalore Central Unit started its program in Yaseen Nagar area in the blessed month of Ramadan. The program was attended by students belonging to Yaseen Nagar. The program will be scheduled on every Sunday from Asr to Maghrib. Hope this area emerges as one of the best in Bangalore and fulfills the mission of SIO.   

SIO stall at Big Bazaar

Students Islamic Organisation of India- Bangalore City had put up a stall at Big Bazaar, Indranagar in order to spread the message of Islam. The stall was placed from the 16th of August till the 30th of August 2011. Many people who visited Big Bazaar witnessed the stall and gained useful information about Islam and Muslims. Free copies of the Quran along with pamplets giving basic information of Islam were gifted to the Non-Muslim visitors. 

Iftar Party for Brindavan College students

The students of Brindavan College were invited for an Iftar party on the 19th of August 2011. The Iftar ceremony was observed by hundreds of students from the college including a few staff members too.    Later a talk on the message of Ramzan and Islam was given.

Iftar Get-Together for Students

Students Islamic Organisation of India- B angalore North Unit organised an Iftar get-together for students on the 26 th  of August 2011, at BIFT Hall Darussalam. The program was attended by students coming from different parts of the city including 30 Non-Muslim brothers. SIO Bangalore City President Br. Syed Kazim addressed the gathering on the message of Ramzan and enlightened the basic principles of Islam. He also invited the gathering to think and ponder over the teachings of Islam. Later the guests were provided with dinner and at the mean time charts which explain the basic concepts of Isdlam were put up. The volunteers explained the charts to the students. Also the guest were given informative pamphlets as a gift of Ramzan.
