Protest Against Saffronisation of Education

SIO Bangalore Observed a Protest against the Saffronisation of Education in freedom park Bangalore, in accordance with the state wide protest of SIO Karnataka. A memorandum was also submitted to the DC of Bangalore demanding to take necessary action before the textbooks are printed.
The Students Islamic Organisation of India, Bangalore City organiased a press meet in Bangalore Press Club on 15th Feb at 12:00 pm. The stage was presided by the state Convener of the campaign Br. Syed Kazim, the Kannada spokesperson Br. Mansoor, P R sec Bangalore Br. Umar and City President Br. Syed Kashif, around 25 press fraternity from different print media attended the meet. The campaign aims at creating awareness about the negative impact of popular culture on the students and youth. The campaign would focus on the philosophy and effects of popular culture. It can be better described as an octopus with several tentacles like music, films, pornography, reality shows, drinks, relationship, behaviour, fashion, literature, advertisements, brand consciousness, media, etc. It has surrounded us from all sides and the probability of survival is negligible unless we stand up today. Newly Elected Regional President and City President

The Elections for the Regional President and City President were held on the 18th of December 2011 at Masjid-e-Saad bin Waqqas. Br. ICC week observed throughout Bangalore

Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO)- Bangalore observed a week long campaign for school children from 14th of November 2011 to 20th of November 2011. The theme of the Campaign was 'Let my brightness illuminate the world'. As part of the Campaign, various programs were done for the students in many schools. Children's Day was celebrated in a number of schools throughout the city. Guidance programs including career counselling was imparted to the students. At the conclusion of the Campaign, students were taken for a picnic to different places in the city including the Museum, Planetorium, etc,. A large number of students were addressed in this Campaign and were encouraged to contribute to the society through their education. The principals of the schools in which the programs were done appreciated the efforts of SIO and hoped that it carries out such programs in the future on a regular basis. 

Associates Meet held at Hegde Nagar

Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO)- Bangalore City organised a program for its active associates at Madrasa-e-Azhar ul Uloom in Hegde Nagar. The program was held from the 15th of October 2011 7pm to 16 of October 2011 5pm.   The guest speakers addressed the delegates on different topics and motivated them to work for the cause of Islam.

SIO stall at Big Bazaar

Students Islamic Organisation of India- Bangalore City had put up a stall at Big Bazaar, Indranagar in order to spread the message of Islam. The stall was placed from the 16th of August till the 30th of August 2011. Many people who visited Big Bazaar witnessed the stall and gained useful information about Islam and Muslims. Free copies of the Quran along with pamplets giving basic information of Islam were gifted to the Non-Muslim visitors. 

Bangalore City Tarbiyati Program

The city level 'Tarbiyati Program' was organized from 23rd July 2011 to 24th July 2011 at Yelagiri Hills in Tamil Nadu. More than 50 students and youths took part in the program. Many activities and inter-active sessions were conducted during the camp. Br. Omair Anas, Br. Hashmathulla, Br. Shujatulla and Janab Yusuf(President JIH, Vanyambadi) addressed the participants on different issues and topics.

knowthetruth.in website launched

As part of its Dawah activities, SIO Bangalore launched a website knowthetruth.in on the 26th of June 2011. The website contains all the relevant information about Islam and gives answers to the most commonly asked questions about Islam. It also features the documentary on Islam called 'The Choice'. Let us start to spread the message of Peace.

Justice done to MBA students

SIO welcomes Bangalore University's move to reconsider the grace marks allotted to the 3rd semester MBA students. We appreciate the decision of the university and for understanding the problems of the students. The affected students can now move ahead with their academics and towards a bright future. Praise be to God Almighty that the efforts of SIO have proved to be fruitful.      In order to show our support to the decision taken by the university, a delegation from SIO - Bangalore visited the Vice Chancellor's office on the 17th of June 2011. An appreciation letter along with "Students Charter" momento and activities brochure were presented to the Vice Chancellor Mr. Prabhu Dev.  

SIO- Bangalore visits Bangalore University VC office

SIO condemns the step taken by BU for with-drawing the grace marks allotted to the MBA students when their 3rd semester results were re-announced this month. Hundreds of students have been affected by this decision of the University. With-drawing the allotted grace marks after such a long time is not at all justified. Regarding this, a delegation of SIO-Bangalore comprising of Br. Shoaib Mohammed (PR Secretary) and Br. Mansoor Ahmed (AO-City Market) visited the office of the Vice Chancellor of Bangalore University on the 14th of June 2011. The delegation met the Secretary of the VC and the Dean of Dept. Commerce and Management, Canara College and expressed its concern on the inconvenience caused by the University to the students. The delegation stressed upon them to take this issue seriously and solve it as soon as possible. A letter addressed by the City President Br. Syed Kazim was later submitted to the Vice Chancellor Office.

'Education- My Identity' Press Conference

Students Islamic Organisation of India has been engaged in various student welfare activities from past 28 years across the nation. Having education & students as prime focus, SIO wants to build a healthy society on the basis of moral and humanitarian values. In order to achieve said objective SIO has been conducting various activities and campaigns from time to time on various issues. Educational awareness campaign is one of such activity which has been observed from about two decades continuously for the betterment of the educational condition. This year Educational Awareness Campaign will be observed from 20th May to 30th May 2011 with the central theme “Education My Identity”. The main objective of this campaign is to inculcate the interest and passion for education among the backward and underdeveloped section of the society. Summer Islamic Camps throughout Bangalore City

The Units of SIO- Bangalore organized Summer Islamic Camps at various places for boys with an objective to impart true Islamic knowledge and understanding of the Islamic Movement. SIO Bangalore North Conducted Summer Classes for Children at two places one at R T Nagar at Sa’d bin Abi Waqaus Masjid and the other at Yeshwanthpur at Mehmood Sherrif Polytechnic College. There were around 130 students who benefitted from the classes. The children were given the fundamental knowledge of Islam and its etiquettes were thought to them in the practical manner. They were also made to involve in many team building activities and talents hunt activities. SIO Bangalore South conducted Summer Islamic camp at Islamic Center from 19th to 29th April. With 59 registrations from Tilak Nagar and BTM it was a great success. Protest against Engineering Fee Hike

Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO)- Bangalore organized a peaceful protest at Town Hall on the 5th of May 2011 in order to condemn the fee hike in the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) course. Students from different parts of the city participated in the protest. Later a Memorandum was submitted to the District Commissioner (DC) and the students informed him to take necessary step in this regard.

Protest against PUC paper leak

Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO)- Bangalore organized a protest in front of the DC's office on the 24th of March 2011 in order to condemn the Physics question paper leak of the on going PUC examinations. The Memorandum was submitted to the DC and the cadre informed him to take strict action against the culprits involved in the leak. The City President Br. Syed Kazim addressed the media and demanded that the Government take strict action in this issue.

Islamic Conference Return towards your Lord and His Prophet (pbuh)

SIO organized a Junior Associates Circle program for students on the 28 th of January 2011 at The Qhuddus Saheb Eidgah (Hajj Camp). 650 students from 6 different schools took part in the program. The Junior Associates Circle students showcased their talent through tarana, qirath, speech and skit. Janab Rafeeq Ahmed (Secretary, JIH, Headquarter), addressed the students on the topic, “Students role in the future”. The program was followed with a visit to the Islamic exhibition by the students. SIO also organized a day long program for students and youths. The program started with the viewing of the Islamic Exhibition followed by the Inter- Collegiate Quiz Competition.
